Meet...Jim
Name: Jim Smith.
Department: Ambulatory Care.
How long at MUSC: Since 1984.
Family: My wife, Pam, and I have both lost
spouses. I have three children and she has three. We both have
identical twin girls—mine are 21 and hers are 14. Pam has a daughter my
girl’s age and I have a son, 31. We have three seniors in college and a
small fleet of cars. Oh yes, and Skipper, a cocker spaniel.
Favorite book or reading
material: The Bible. I need all
the grace that can be given.
Favorite room in your
house: Deck overlooking a tidal
creek and marsh.
Ingredient you must have
in your refrigerator: Hard to
beat a good cold beer on a hot day.
Pet peeve: Poor planning.
Biggest challenge at work: Building strong relationships and
fitting all I have to do into a week at a time.
Most rewarding thing about
your job: I always enjoy working
in health care and contributing to our community.
If you suddenly had a free
day, what would you do: I love to
find special spontaneous things to do with my wife.
Something people don’t
know about you: I cook breakfast
at Crisis Ministries once a month.
Something you tried once
and will never do again: I am a
product of the 60s. I won't say more.
