Faculty senators elected

Thirty-five faculty members were elected to the faculty senate in elections held at the end of August. New senators begin their terms in October.

College of Dental Medicine: Richard Albenesius and Joe Krayer
College of Health Professions: Kathleen Cegles and Jennifer Horner
College of Medicine—Basic Sciences: Mostafa Fraig, Denise Quigley and Cynthia Welsh
College of Medicine—Clinical Sciences: Susan Ackerman, William Conway,  Andrew Gelasco, Gary Haynes, Dorothea Jenkins, George Johnson, Brad Keith, Eric Larson, Bonnie Martin-Harris, Amy Ramsay, Anand Sharma and Ira Willner. Alternates—Marcelo Vela Aquino, Thomas Pope, Kedar Shetye, and John Sturdivant
College of Nursing: Sharon Bond, Nancy Duffy, Barbara Edlund and Sheila Smith, Alternates—Kathleen Simon and Margaret Spain
College of Pharmacy: Katherine Chessman and Patrick Mauldin
Library Science and Informatics: Laura Cousineau and Geoffrey Freeman. Alternatse—Margaret Moughan and Tom Smith.
 
In addition to the selection of senators, two proposed constitutional amendments and corresponding changes in the faculty handbook were on the ballot. Amendments, “I. Eligibility to Vote regarding University Affairs” and “II. Appointment of Senate Vacancies,” passed and the handbook changes approved.
