MUSC Excellence at the University F&A announce Employees of the Month Finance and Administration (F&A) announced the Employees of the Month for August during an event held Sept. 19.   Each month, F&A honors employees from the Engineering & Facilities, Finance and Operations divisions who were nominated for Applause awards for their excellent service.   The Employee of the Month is selected from all Applause award winners for that particular month.   Dwight Chamberlain The Engineering & Facilities’ Employee of the Month for August is Dwight Chamberlain of University Maintenance. Chamberlain was selected because of the excellent leadership he displayed in directing multiple physical plant shops to complete the task of connecting “disinfection units” throughout seven departments of the College of Dental Medicine. His actions minimized interference to staff and significantly increased productivity by allowing all departments to simultaneously switch to one disinfection agent.   Jennifer Hutson The Finance Division’s Employee of the Month for August is Jennifer McCall Hutson of Grants & Contracts Accounting. Hutson was selected, because she voluntarily took on the additional duties of a staff member who was on extended leave. She took on work that was somewhat unfamiliar to her, but she spent the time to review the written procedures and learn relevant processes well enough to keep the reporting functions moving. This sometimes meant long days for her, including coming into work on her scheduled days off. (She is a part-time employee.)   Siobhan Buckley   The Operations Division’s Employee of the Month for August is Siobhan Buckley of Human Resources Management. In July Buckley was charged with creating a large number of reports. One, however, took many hours of research and investigation to determine what was needed. These reports are referred to as the “Moratorium Reports.” The reports had not been maintained for several years. Buckley was able to code the reports to reduce the manual intervention to obtain these numbers for MUSC. She stepped into review the process with the person maintaining the numbers, and share her knowledge with MUHA staff. Her dedication to get the job done and make the process more efficient is appreciated.   Applause recipients for August.   The Employee of the Month program was created to recognize employees who go above and beyond job requirements and offer excellent service to the MUSC community.
