“Student research day provides participants with the experience of presenting in front of peers and judges who give them feedback,” said the 2007 SRD chairman Steve Kubalak, Ph.D., associate  professor of cell biology and anatomy. “It tests their knowledge of their research areas, preparing them for national and international  scientific forums.”

Judges Drs. Timothy Fitzharris, Rickey Carter and Keith Borg listen to College of Dental Medicine student Gwendolyn Reeve explain her poster. Twelve faculty teams judged the poster competition.

Special awards included  the Kinard Gadsden Award, the Williard and Betty Peterson Award, and the Eric James Award, named for the former SRD chairman.
