Children’s Services Gastroenterology and Nutrition clinic in West Ashley is staffed with two physicians, R. Bhanu V. Pillai, M.D., director, Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology/Nutrition; and a new pediatric gastroenterologist, Ian Kang, M.D.

The full-service nursing staff includes two certified gastroenterology registered nurses, two certified pediatric nurse practitioners, three registered nurses, one licensed practical nurse and a clinical assistant.

The clinic, which is part of the Medical University Hospital Authority, has seven exam rooms, on-site blood draws, and routine X-ray services. The clinic’s opening signals an expansion of services at Children’s Hospital, while enabling specialists to see more patients, Pillai said.

Appointment times currently extend from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The clinic is located on the second floor of the MUSC Bone and Joint Center at 2125 Charlie Hall Blvd. across from TV Channel 5. The clinic formerly was located in Rutledge Tower.
