Meet...Amanda

Name: Amanda J. Stewart.

Department: Office of Development.

How long have you been at MUSC: Since April 9.

What did you want to be when you were little: I wanted to do something with writing, and I have been blessed that my current work involves writing.

What was your first job: Pear Tree Toys in Summerville when I was in high school.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job: My job is thanking people for their gifts to MUSC—and it’s a fun position to be in. I enjoy working with people and helping to celebrate their good work in supporting the important work at MUSC.

If you could change careers, what would you be doing: Can I read for a living?

Something you collect: Since I’m a Chi Omega, I have a fair number of owls.

Favorite book: “The World According to Garp” by John Irving.

Favorite Web site: Right now, MUSC—it’s helping me to learn as I acclimate to my role here.

Favorite type of music: I like just about everything, but I am a big fan of bluegrass.

Bad habit: Trying to plan absolutely every moment of my life.

Pet peeve: Laziness.

Biggest challenge: I am hyper-organized, which can be problematic.

Something people don’t know about you: When I’m really stressed out, I clean.
