West Ashley gets Cardiology Associates

A common issue for patients is the convenience of good health care without having to drive miles from home to see a physician. For the residents of the West Ashley area who need cardiac care, convenience and health care have arrived in the form of West Ashley Cardiology Associates.

MUSC West Ashley Cardiology Associates are, front row from left, Drs. Joseph Gaddy, Grady Hendrix, Peter Zwerner, and Marian Taylor. Back row from left are Drs. Eric Powers, David Gregg IV, Pamela Morris and J. Lacy Sturdivant.

Peter Zwerner, M.D., MUSC cardiologist, said the growth in the West Ashley area is what prompted MUSC to extend its health care network. “Our patients can expect a full service cardiology practice staffed by MUSC physicians in a convenient location with easy parking and same day or 24 hour service,” he said.

The new practice is located at 2075 Charlie Hall Blvd., Suite B, which is in the same vicinity as the Channel 5 news station and the MUSC Bone and Joint Center. Services include outpatient consultation, exercise stress testing, nuclear stress testing, cardiac ultrasound, EKG, holter monitoring, and pacemaker and defibrillator testing.

The clinic is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Unlike some cardiology practices, this new practice will house clinicians who deal with general cardiology issues and those sub-specialists who have much experience with congenital heart disease, interventional cardiology, lipid management, and heart disease prevention.

To schedule an appointment, call MUSC Health Connection at 792-1616 or the MUSC Cardiology Associates directly at 876-5888.

MUSC Cardiology Associates also has locations in Mount Pleasant and the North Area.
