MUSC’s William T. Creasman, M.D., Sims-Hester professor and chairman of the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology became a fellow ad eundem of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in London, England on Sept. 26.

He received with this honorary fellowship because of his enormous contribution to the specialty of Gynecology-oncology which deals with cancer of the reproductive organs.

Each year this distinction is given to only a few obstetricians and gynecologists who are not natives of the United Kingdom. Nine were inducted this year. With this distinction come all the accolades, rights and privileges without the extensive requirements of a full fellow.

Creasman was extremely pleased and honored to be recognized by peers, especially from other countries. He recieved international recognition for his involvement with FIGO (International Federation of Gynecologists and Obstetricians). He is the chairman of the committee of gynecologic oncology and the editorial board for the annual report.

In addition to his extensive list of appointments, accomplishments and publications, Creasemen co-wrote the Clinical Gynecologic Oncology textbook with Philip J. Disaia, which is the most read gyneocology-oncologic textbook in the world.
