Proclamation for the Tenth Birthday of the MUSC Children's Hospital

Whereas, The Medical University of South Carolina's Children's Hospital champions the special needs of children and families and is committed to improving children's health by providing high-quality, family-centered pediatric services; and

Whereas, the MUSC Children's Hospital advances these efforts through its mission of providing compassionate care, research and education in an environment which is respectful of others, adaptive to change and accountable for outcomes; and

Whereas, parents of our city and from afar bring their most precious possessions, their children, here in search of healing and support; and

Whereas, good health is a prerequisite for a child to achieve optimum growth and development; and

Whereas, for ten years the MUSC Children's Hospital has provided the highest level of health care for children with an outstanding pediatric team specially trained to meet the needs of children; and

Whereas, on this, the tenth anniversary year, MUSC Children's Hospital is recognized for its excellence in patient care and unyielding dedication to the families of the City of Charleston, the State of South Carolina and surrounding area: MUSC Children's Hospital is deserving of the official recognition of the City of Charleston and an official designation of this week.

Now therefore, let it be known and proclaimed that this week, October 12 to October 18, in the year one-thousand nine hundred and ninety-seven shall be designated as MUSC Children's Hospital Week
