British Open winner to give clinic during golf event


Kiawah Island Resort and the Hollings Cancer Center will host the Second Annual Hollings Cancer Center Golf Tournament at Kiawah Island Resortās Osprey Point Course on Monday, Oct. 6 with proceeds benefiting the Hollings Cancer Center.

Justin Leonard, Kiawah Island Resortās PGA Touring Pro and recent winner of the 1997 British Open, will be giving a clinic open to all sponsors of the event. Leonard won the Kemper Open in June and is on track to represent the United States in the Ryder Cup matches. "This should be an exciting day," Leonard said. "I am happy to be able to help the Hollings Cancer Center during my next trip to Kiawah."

The tournament will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Event highlights include a golf clinic with Leonard, team photos taken with Leonard, a round of golf at Osprey Point, and a cocktail and dinner awards reception at the new Osprey Clubhouse at Kiawah Island Resort. The cost is $1,000 per foursome.
