September 12 The Center for Women will hold a program titled ãFrom Darkness to Light: A Community Forum on Child Sexual Abuse Issues and a Healthy Community Responseä from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at The Riviera Conference Center, King and Markets Streets. The keynote speakers are Marilyn Van Derbur, child advocate and former Miss America, and Sandra Lynn Bloom, M.D., founder and executive director of The Sanctuary. September 20SAT workshop titled ãHow to Take the Scholastic Assessment Testsä will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the MUSC's Basic Science Auditorium. The workshop will be conducted by Leroy Fails from the Southern Region College Board in Atlanta, Ga. The workshop is sponsored by the MUSC's Office of Diversity. September 23 Mind Your Health series continues from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Institute of Psychiatry Auditorium, located on the corner of President and Doughty streets. Carole Bennett, R.N., will teach individuals how denying responsibility can weaken work and family environments, and find out what you can do to regain control in this seminar titled "Whose Fault Is It Anyway? Taking Responsibility For Your Life." The Mind Your Health seminars are free and are sponsored by MUSC Institute of Psychiatry and WXLY, Oldies 102.5 FM. To register, call 792-1414.
September 26 The Friends of the Charleston County Library will hold its 15th Annual Book Sale from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Gaillard Municipal Auditorium. More than 40,000 books will be available for sale÷childrens' books and more. Admission is $2 for individuals 13 and older.
Tae Kwon Do accepting students
MUSC's Tae Kwon Do class is accepting
applicants interested in the martial arts. The class, open to individuals
13 years and older, will begin at 7 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays and 5:45
p.m. on Friday and are held in the Harper Student Center. The Tae Kwon
Do practiced in class is a non-violent, non-contact sport and follows the
World Tae Kwon Do Association philosophy of martial arts. Participants
do not have to belong to the Wellness Center or have an affiliation with
MUSC. Individuals interested in observing the class are welcome to attend.

Habitat for Humanity looking for
families
Charleston Habitat for Humanity operates
through private donations and volunteer labor, building homes for families
who otherwise could not afford one. Charleston Habitat for Humanity is
currently looking for families needing a home. To qualify, household income
should be between $12,000 and $24,000 per year. For more information, call
