SIMON paging system receives upgrade The SIMON Paging system underwent a software system upgrade on Tuesday, Nov. 30.  The following are instructions for new user features via the automated or voice response unit (VRU) at 792-0590.  These instructions update the ones provided in your current SIMON directory beginning on page 9.    SIMON New User Option Instructions Administering User Options  To access user options, dial 9 plus your 5-digit messaging ID. You will then hear the following list of options:  Main User Option Menu: 1 = TO CHANGE YOUR COVERAGE, DIAL 1   COVERAGE OPTIONS:  1- Change or add Coverage  2- Delete Coverage (After deleting your Coverage, your previous status becomes valid) 2 = TO CHANGE REFERRAL PHONE NUMBER DIAL 2 (This option replaces status option 12- “Can be reached at ……”) You will be prompted to enter a telephone number to be read to callers.  1. Change or add Referral 2.   Delete Referral (After deleting your Referral, your previous status becomes valid) 3 = TO HEAR A LIST OF STATUS CODES DIAL 3 Please note that Coverage and Referral to a telephone numbers are not statuses and must be administered separately in Option 1 and 2 of the Main Menu. Coverage and Referral will ALWAYS over-ride your current status. You must first delete Coverage and/or Referral before your previous status becomes valid. STATUS OPTIONS: 2-In hospital, on page; 3-In hospital, page emergency only; 4-In hospital, not available; 5- Out of hospital, on page; 6- Out of hospital, page emergency only; 7-Out of hospital; not available; 8-In surgery, page emergency only; 9-In surgery, not available; 10-Available but not on call; 11-Not on call and not available; 13-Available at home by phone
