Please tune in to the new Cookin’ Kids television show on Saturday mornings at 7:30 a.m. on WCIV Channel 4.

This cooking show ‘for kids, by kids’ is based on MUSC's I Love to Cook Book, which features heart healthy recipes from kid chefs.

The award winning cookbook is a community service of the MUSC Heart Center and MUSC Children's Health Services.

To get your copy of the cookbook so that your child can follow along with the Cookin' Kids show each week, use the order form shown. But first, read more about what the cookbook has to offer:

• The I Love to Cook Book is unique because the recipes, artwork and comments come from kids, and it's written in easy terms a junior chef can understand.
• A registered dietitian reviewed all the original recipes submitted and then modified them, where needed, to make them as heart-healthy as possible.
• Recipes are not only good-tasting, but good for the whole family because they are lower in fat and cholesterol.
• Recipes are designed so children can make them on their own or with the help of an adult.
• Serious topics such as kitchen safety are included, as well as fun aspects of cooking like setting the table, using good table manners and learning to create nutritious meals using our just-for-kids Food Guide Pyramid.
• Each recipe includes important information about nutrition facts per serving. We'll also have cookbooks available for sale at the Children's Hospital information desk. The cost is $8—exact change or checks only. Please make checks payable to MUSC.
