HSF nominees announced for teaching awards
Faculty and students nominated 36 faculty members to be considered for
this year’s Health Sciences Foundation Teaching Excellence Awards.
This year for the first time, the awards will be presented at the Fall
Faculty Convocation in August, but the provost, Rosalie Crouch, Ph.D.,
will announce the winners in The Catalyst the week before Commencement
for the benefit of graduating students.
A review committee composed of faculty representatives from each college,
the general faculty, and the Student Government Association will select
the recipients.
Up to three awards will be presented from the following categories:
Educator-Mentor, for excellence in mentoring and serving as a role model
for students in clinical or research activities; Educator-Lecturer, for
excellence in traditional didactic or classroom teaching; and Developing
Teacher, for excellence in teaching by a junior faculty member.
Each recipient will be presented a $3,000 cash award, a $1,000
