America's sweetest ride stops at Children's HospitalA chocolate lover's dream machine rolled into the MUSC Horseshoe on Monday, Feb. 28.Loading the Hershey's Kissmobile for its next stop are Claire Abbott, MUSC Children's Hospital Fund, and Becky and Brenda Gilbert, members of the Kissmobile crew. The Hershey's Kissmobile—an 11-foot-6-inch tall, 25-foot-6-inch long
vehicle designed to look like three giant Hershey's Kisses—stopped at MUSC
as part of its cross-country tour to raise awareness and donations
for the Children's Miracle Network. The Children's Miracle Network is affiliated
with more than 170 children's hospitals in the United States and Canada,
including the MUSC Children's Hospital.
At the Children's Hospital, Hershey's mascot Kiss played with children in the Atrium and visited other patients in the hospital. Children had the chance to have their picture taken with Kiss and got storybooks, coloring sheets and crayons, and maps of the Kissmobile's 2000 tour. The Kissmobile made several other stops in Charleston at local grocery
stores.
Visitors to the Kissmo-bile can play "The Great Kiss Race," a computer animated racing game, see how the Kissmobile was created, and learn how Hershey's Kisses are made. In addition to its technical wizardry, the Kissmobile also has the capacity to store more than 230,000 Hershey's Hugs and Kisses chocolates in a refrigerated compartment.
