IOP to offer seminar, screenings for Alcohol Dependency Screening Day

Are there certain health benefits to drinking alcohol? What are the risks? And what about the effects of drinking too much?

Join Dr. Robert Malcolm on April 8 for “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly About Drinking Alcohol.” He'll help separate fact from fiction and help you learn what's right for you.

The seminar will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Institute of Psychiatry Auditorium at the corner of President and Doughty streets. Admission and parking are free. To register, call the MUSC Health Connection Line at 792-1414.

MUSC Institute of Psychiatry is also offering free and confidential alcohol dependency screenings from 7-10 a.m. or 5-8 p.m. on April 8.

Call 792-2727 for a free screening over the phone or visit the Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs at MUSC's Institute of Psychiatry, during these times. Call 792-7340 for more information on the screening.
