Oacis disappearing from ClinLAN terminalsStatLAN is just weeks away from retirement and in only a matter of days, Oacis will be disappearing from ClinLAN terminals.By the end of October all the uses to which StatLAN lends itself will have been moved to Oacis and other computer programs available on ClinLAN95 workstations. One of the StatLAN program functions in use throughout the hospital is Census Management. In order to test the new Census Management programs within Oacis, the software version of Oacis must be upgraded from 6.3 to 6.4—the Apollo release. This is good news because the features available within Apollo are richer than in any previous software version. One drawback, however, is that the Apollo version of Oacis must be run on a Windows95 operating system as found on a ClinLAN95 workstation. For this reason, older workstations running ClinLAN under Windows 3.11 will no longer be able to directly access Oacis. Timing of the move to Apollo is planned to coincide with the completion of the ClinLAN95 roll-out to all clinical units as well as many other locations. Workstations that are still running Windows 3.11-based ClinLAN when the upgrade to Apollo occurs will be able to access the Oacis Clinical Display through the web-enabled product known as Passport. In order to avoid any interruptions in access to clinical data, a Passport icon will be made available and installed on Window 3.11-based ClinLAN workstations. Frequently Asked Questions
