Cellular service plans expand for departments, employeesDepartments and employees will benefit from expanded cellular telephone services offered through four new MUSC vendors. The Center for Computing and Information Technology (CCIT) has expanded its University Communications department to include services offered by Alltel, Sprint, SunCom, and Verizon. Now each department has an opportunity to choose the cellular provider that will best meet its needs. These four companies also offer special programs for MUSC employees (which includes some contract employees) and their families. In addition, Sprint is extending its offer to retirees. Designated liaisons should review their department's current cellular services for phones that are no longer used or rate plans that don’t fit their calling habits. Does your plan offer too few or too many minutes? Does it offer long distance or roaming? University Communications can initiate a rate plan analysis to help you evaluate your cell phone needs. You should contact our cellular representatives (listed below) to discuss your needs and available options. When your department makes a choice and obtains proper approvals, it must submit an IIT to University Communications (fax, 792-9100) for all purchases and service agreements. Cellular billing information for charges posted to financial statements is now available online to department representatives. This Web site allows each department an opportunity to review cellular charges posted to its account. For information on accessing this site, contact Lori Solado in University Communications at 792-3800. Cellular Representatives
