FROM: Ray Greenberg
SUBJ: Compliments
Since becoming president, I have received many letters commending our
faculty and staff for outstanding patient care. These letters from
patients and their families provide ample evidence of their high regard
for our clinical services. I am pleased to share some of them with
you, and recognize those who are providing skilled and compassionate care.
Dear Dr. Greenberg,
I was a patient at MUSC this past March. From the time I had my first
test until the time I left the hospital I was treated with kindness and
genuine caring by every member of the hospital staff. I especially want
to bring to your attention the nurses. They worked a 12-hour shift but
were just as attentive at the end of the shift as at the beginning.
You can be very proud of the people you work with.
Dear Dr. Greenberg,
The Palmetto Pavilion lived up to its reputation. It was a treat to
be there. ...I had the best care and the best doctors.
Dear Dr. Greenberg,
Although the result was not what we wished, we were completely satisfied
with our last two admissions to MUSC hospital. All of the personnel, both
professional and non-professional, were extremely competent, friendly and
helpful. The care was wonderful and made me proud of my and my son’s alma
mater.
Dear Dr. Greenberg,
I wish to commend to your attention the doctors who cared for me over
the last nine months of my sojourn at Charleston. I am returning to Florida.
Named are: Drs. Sarah E. Stapleton, Clarence W. (Chip) Legerton III,
Alexander R. Kent, Paul H. O’Brien, Pearon G. Lang Jr., Rajiv Kwatra, Michael
E. Assey; Nurses: Ellen T. Hale, Barbara Craven, Lydia Suavez; and Patient
Care Technician Pam Walker.
Dear Dr. Greenberg,
While vacationing in the Charleston area this past week, my little
boy became ill and was admitted to MUSC. An early morning trip to the emergency
room was a scare for us, and we are delighted that he is now feeling better.
Each step of the way my husband and I were assisted by caring, top-flight
professionals.
I’d like to call your attention to one person who helped us in great
measure: Ms. Karen Boinest, Guest Relations. Karen saw us in the cafeteria,
vacation baggage in tow, and interrupted her luncheon to inquire about
the three of us. She listened to our story, escorted us to a quiet, comfortable
lounge, offered us a cold drink, and later facilitated our trip from the
hospital to the airport. And, she even made us laugh along the way. For
us, she truly is a very bright spot in an otherwise very dark couple of
days.
I just wanted you to know how glad we are to have chosen MUSC, and
to have crossed paths with Karen.
