New identification badges more universal, convenient MUSC employees and students are in the process of updating employee identification badges for a more convenient-sized universal ident-ification card currently  being issued by the Department of Public Safety.  The business-sized card will allow employees to access buildings and secured areas, manage timekeeping and payroll and perform library services. Public Safety has issued about 1,200 badges  and will continue the process  with new and returning students beginning Aug.  21, according to Public Safety's Cheryl O'Brien.  Remaining staff and employees  will be issued new badges beginning January 2001. Any university depart-ment that has not been scheduled for a badge remake should contact Public Safety, 792-4194 or 792-2261.
