Children's talent shines through

This year, send your holiday greetings on cards created especially for the season by Children’s Hospital patients.

Rachel Hendrix and her mom purchase their cards.

Now in its ninth year, the Kids Helping Kids Holiday Card Project will raise funds to support research and programs at the Children’s Hospital.

Aiden Maynard with mom, Nicole, displays his artwork.

Each year, the local businesses who sponsor the project select artwork to be included in the pack of cards.

A set of 20 cards and envelopes is $15 and can be purchased at BB&T, MUSC Wellness Center, First Federal of Charleston, local branches of Bank of America, and South Carolina Federal Credit Union. The Kiwanis Clubs of Charleston will also be selling the cards in local Belk department stores on weekends through December.

Children's Hospital Director Dr. Lyndon Key celebrates the annual “Kids Helping Kids” Holiday Card Project during a reception Nov. 5. The children, all former patients at MUSC Children's Hospital, created 20 works of art featuring a Christmas theme. Artists pictured are: Daniel Stemke, Sullivan Leamond, Benjamin Hoskins, Erin Kelley, Ashley Cox, Rachel Hendrix, Brandon Peek, Mathew Panther, Emily Gail Lyles, Valerie Paras, Lindsey Laurent, and Aiden Maynard.
