Cooper River Bridge Run Kid's Race Finish Line Expo

Participants in this year's children expo:
MUSC Children’s Health—As one of the top 10 children’s hospitals in the country, MUSC Children’s Hospital offers families the finest health care available in the southeast. MUSC offers the state’s only pediatric cardiology program, organ transplant program, comprehensive pediatric pulmonology unit and burn center. And, MUSC has just broken ground on a $36 million research institute. All of this means healthier children. As sponsor of the Kids Run, MUSC Children's Health shares its commitment for healthy lifestyles. The Children’s Health tent will offer hands-on learning activities and valuable healthcare information. Additonal booths set up are:

Trident Area Safe Kids—This booth offers important information about safety and injury prevention, such as preventing burns, head and spine injuries. Enjoy drawings and games dedicated to helping parents make safety a priority at  home and away. 

MUSC Child Life Program—This team is dedicated to helping your child through a health care or hospital experience. Learn about the many special ways we take care of children at MUSC Children’s Hospital.

Aluminum Cans for Burned Children (ACBC)—MUSC has the state’s only pediatric burn center—one of fewer than 10 such centers in the country. Find out how firefighters and ACBC have joined efforts to help children with burns and teach the community about fire safety. Pick up burn safety information.

MUSC College of Dental Health—Fun hand puppets will teach children the importance of brushing their teeth. Learn about dental health advances for children.

Drawings and giveaways to include:

  • MUSC Parent Connection  Directory—A call-in library of health topics for raising healthy kids.
  • I Love to Cook Book—Healthy recipes for children with lots of fun mixed in.
  • Special magnets, along with surprises. 


Theme Cuisine Menu
The week of March 12 will feature fajitas and wraps. Each week Theme Cuisine will feature weekly specials. For the latest on the Theme Cuisine menu, call 792-MUSC (6872).

Child-proofing Your Home
Prevent accidents before they happen. Dr. Meghan Geils, with Folly Road Pediatrics, will offer helpful tips on how to make your home a safe environment for children. The event is free. Folly Road Pediatrics, 650 Ellis Oaks Ave (in front of Folly Road Harris Teeter).
