Annual
clothing collection for homeless
Planning to rid your closets of unwanted clothing this spring? How about
recycling used clothing for others to use!
In conjunction with Keep America Beautiful's Great American Cleanup,
Gain, a brand of laundry detergent from Proctor and Gamble, has announced
the “Give and Gain: The Gain Clothe America Campaign.” This is a national
effort to collect clean clothing for the needy families across America
during April.
MUSC employees or students are invited to donate a bag of clean
and wearable clothing for Charleston's homeless on Thursday, April 19.
During this one-day event, you may donate any clothing for any season,
any size...and don't forget shoes!
The Salvation Army will assist in distributing the needed clothing
among Charleston's homeless populations. The Salvation Army truck will
be parked in the Horseshoe from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. to collect your
donation. Other convenient drop-off sites and times are: Harborview Towers
Lobby and Harper Student Center's Lower Lobby from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.
For information regarding the drive, contact the MUSC Gives Back office
at 792-4094.
