Meet...Tom
Name: Tom Dozier.
School: College of
Medicine and president of the Student Government Association for 2001 -
2002 school year.
Year:
Second year.
Favorite TV program: ER.
I know, it's pitiful.
Favorite sport: Lawn
darts.
Favorite class/professor: Recess.
Favorite restaurant: The
Boathouse at Breach Inlet.
Favorite movie: A
Few Good Men.
Pet peeve: People
who never say anything positive about anything.
Accomplishment you are most proud of: Quaternion
Society at Furman University.
What is your agenda as the 2001- 2002 SGA president:
To listen to the students and voice their
concerns to whomever should hear them. I would really like to see the state
lottery support scholarships even at this level of education, but I think
I've got my work cut out for me on that one.
Plans for your future, after you graduate: To
be a doctor; as to what type—a good one. Ask me again in a year and I might
know the specialty by then.
Who is your inspiration, your hero: My
father. I can only hope to emulate his unwavering integrity, honesty, and
commitment to things larger than the individual.
Event you are looking forward to: June
12, the day after I take Step 1 of the Boards.
Dream vacation: Speedweek
at Daytona.
Most treasured material possession:
It would be hard to value any material thing more than my friends and the
life with which I've been blessed.
Something people don't know about you: I
watched the Braves win the World Series in 1995 and hung out with them
later that night.
Words of advice: Chill
out and enjoy the means to whatever end you're seeking.
