Day of Caring

Joshua Singleton of Sanders Clyde Elementary smiles with Jeannie Grooms of the Office of Development as he shows off his art work that he made at the  Cannon Street YMCA which will go on display at the South Carolina Aquarium.

Although Sept. 11, 2001 may always stand out in the memories of the American people as a day of tragic violence and grief, the same day was also a time of compassion and giving in Charleston as the community came together for the Trident United Way's second annual Day of Caring.

The all-day event was carried out with the help of  more than 700 volunteers from local business and organizations who aided in various community service projects in the Charleston area.

MUSC was represented on the Day of Caring not only by President Ray Greenberg, M.D., Ph.D.,  who is chair of the program, but also by more than 100 MUSC employees and students from 11 different colleges and departments of the university.
