Director sought for MUSC's executive doctoral program  The Department of Health Administration and Policy in the College of Health Professions at MUSC invites nominations and applications for the position of director, Executive Doctoral Program in Health Administration and Leadership (DHA).    Now in its seventh year, this innovative program offers quality instruction in a format designed to fit the schedules of accomplished professionals from all areas of health services. Courses are taught by highly qualified MUSC faculty members and nationally prominent visiting scholars and practitioners. Position Description: The DHA program director will hold a faculty appointment at a level commensurate with the individual’s academic experience. The DHA program director has primary responsibility for leadership of the DHA program and reports to the chair of the department. Specific responsibilities include: (a) curriculum program planning and management, (b) student recruiting and marketing, (c) recruiting of visiting scholars and practitioners, (d) continuous quality improvement of curriculum and instruction, (e) represent the program at local, regional, and national levels. Administrative responsibilities will comprise approximately 50 percent of the director’s duties. Options for the remaining time include teaching within other programs in the department, research and/or participation in an established faculty practice plan. Qualifications: The college seeks a nationally recognized individual with specific qualifications including: An earned doctorate in a field related to health administration  Experience with executive education and/or professional development Demonstrated leadership in professional association activities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills   MUSC is a progressive center for medical education, research and service delivery located in historic Charleston, South Carolina. It is comprised of the University Medical Center and six academic colleges: health professions, dental medicine, graduate studies, medicine, nursing, and pharmacy. It is the major referral center for health care and health sciences research in the state.   Charleston, with a rich 300-year heritage, is one of America’s most beautiful and historic cities.
