Senate updates annual committee reportsThe Faculty Senate reviewed and approved the minutes of the September meetings.Anne Osborne Kilpatrick, DPA, presented the chair’s report, which outlined the major activities and accomplishments of the past year, as well as pending work. She also presented certificates of appreciation to members of the executive committee. Election of new officers: Francine Margolius, Ed.D., outgoing vice chair and chair of the Governance Committee, facilitated the election of the slate of officers. The new officers are secretary, Katherine Chessman (College of Pharmacy), vice chair, Michael Zile (College of Medicine, Clinical Services), and chair, Anne Osborne Kilpatrick (College of Health Professions). Other executive committee members are Carlos Salinas (College of Dental Medicine), Tara Hulsey (College of Nursing) and Philippe Arnaud (College of Medicine, Basic Sciences) and Mary Mauldin (Library and Informatics). The drug-free workplace policy and attorney responses will be sent to members, and all comments will be requested to be received within a week. In addition, all comments on the conflict of interest and commitment policy were aggregated, and the chair was designated to work with the associate provost on a policy that might be acceptable to all involved.
