faculty honored at reception
A reception honoring award-winning faculty and staff of the Medical University’s
College of Health Professions was held Wednesday, Nov. 13 at Brett's at
The Wickliffe House.
Honorees and their awards are:

D. Glen Askins Jr., M.D., professor,
medical director and chair of the Department of Clinical Services, recipient
of the MUSC Health Sciences Foundation Clinician of the Year Award.

Ronald T. Brown, Ph.D., professor,
associate dean for research and department chair for Health Professions,
recipient of the Martin P. Levin Award for Distinguished Research of the
Society of Pediatric Psychology.

Jerry Burik, assistant professor, Rehabilitation
Sciences, recipient of the MUSC Health Sciences Foundation Developing Teacher
of the Year Award.

Esther Forti, Ph.D., assistant professor,
Department of Health Professions, director of the South Carolina Geriatric
Education Center, recipient of the MUSC Health Sciences Foundation Developing
Scholar Award and SC Rural Health Association Researcher of the Year.

Maralynne Mitcham, Ph.D., professor,
Rehabilitation Sciences, program director, Occupational Therapy, recipient
of the College of Health Professions Scholar of the Year Award and the
American Occupational Therapy Foundation’s Honorary Life Membership.

Lisa Nichols, assistant professor,
Rehabilitation Sciences, recipient of the College of Health Professions
Excellence in Service Award.

K. Jackson Thomas, Ed.D., associate
professor, Rehabilitation Sciences, recipient of the MUSC Health Sciences
Foundation Teaching Excellence Award, Association of Schools of Allied
Health Professions’ Outstanding Allied Health Educator Award.

Holly Wise, Ph.D., assistant professor,
Rehabilitation Sciences, recipient of College of Health Professions Teacher
of the Year Award.

Felicia Wright, student services coordinator,
Health Administration and Policy, recipient of College of Health Professions
Staff of the Year Award.

Hon Yuen, Ph.D., assistant professor,
rehabilitation sciences, recipient of the College of Health Professions
Developing Scholar of the Year and Association of Schools of Allied Health
Professions New Investigator Award.
