Office of Alumni Affairs launches new Web site
The Office of Alumni Affairs launched a new and improved Web site early
last week. The new Web site is located at http://alumni.musc.edu. The redesigned
Web site, previously located at http://www.musc.edu/alumni,
includes a number of new features.
Some of them include:
-
An “e-mail forwarding for life” service for recent graduates. The service
offers graduates a MUSC alumni e-mail address for graduates that will never
expire. This is a valuable service since oftentimes e-mail addresses change
as alumni change internet service providers (ISPs). Plans are currently
underway to offer this service to all past graduates from the university.
-
A comprehensive section for each of the six colleges at the university.
Each college provides information about the alumni association structure,
dues, news and events, and even a photo album.
-
A section designed especially for those alumni planning to return to the
Charleston area for business or pleasure.
-
An interactive online services section that includes online forms for alumni
to update their information, share news and classnotes with the alumni
office and fellow alumni, transcript request forms and more.
-
News and events section includes links to a variety of news resources at
MUSC, locally and statewide.
“Our new site demonstrates our ongoing dedication to our alumni,” said
Betsy Waters, executive director, MUSC Alumni Affairs. “We are excited
that the new site offers more online services and up-to-date information
to our alumni, and we will continually work on adding new and useful features.”
Plans are currently under way to develop a gift store where MUSC insignia
gifts and alumni products can be ordered and purchased online.
The Web site was created through a partnership between Trio Solutions
Inc., a local company offering planning, marketing and Web development
services to the health care industry, and the MUSC IT Lab.
