Ambulatory Care recognizes AREA winnersEach quarter, Ambulatory Care Services recognizes selected employees who demonstrate the organization’s values of Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Adaptability (AREA). Staff members who have received an Applause for Caring card during the quarter are automatically eligible for the AREA Award.Fourth quarter AREA Award recipients are: Debbie Webb, transplant/nephrology; Collette Mayes, Hollings Cancer Center; and Tammy Kabakjian, pediatric ambulatory care. Excerpts from nominations are: “Debbie has been a patient advocate and friend. When one of our patients was hospitalized, she visited her on numerous occasions and took her some of her favorite foods. She takes the extra step past the nurse-patient relationship and has become a friend to this patient.” “Collette goes beyond the extra mile each and every time she steps foot in the doors of Hollings Cancer Center...I am proud to say that Collette exemplifies ‘The Model Employee!’ She is not only a great employee, but she is a great person who is always willing to listen and help out.” Tammy Kabakjian,second from right, was one of the winners recognized by the Prize Patrol for going the extra mile. setting. Each recipient received an AREA Award lapel pin, a framed certificate,
a “Be My Guest” dining card in the amount of $50 and a cake to share with
his/her coworkers.
