What brought you to Charleston: During my 24 years in the Navy I was stationed here in '67, taught leadership at the mine school and promised myself that I would come back. Fond childhood memory: Disneyland. Bad habit: I love to eat, crabmeat fettuccine is a favorite dish to cook. Person you admire the most: My wife because she’s so down to earth. Hobbies: I play golf. Dream vacation: Somewhere tropical. If you could trade places with someone for a day, who would you be? No one, I’m very happy being Mrs. Thurman’s husband. Memorable trip: I recently rode my motorcycle and spent the weekend with my wife in Aiken in an old remodeled hotel. Greatest accomplishment: Saving MUSC money by getting all of our bedding plants from the Department of Corrections. Personality trait you admire in others: Integrity.
