Charity strut to support MUSC Children's HospitalThe 15th Annual Carolina Children’s Charity Strut will be held Sept. 14 at Hampton Park. The event is open to groups, companies, families, athletic clubs, churches, schools, neighbors, any organizations or individuals looking to have a fun day. Strutters get donations to support their participation in this fund-raising event.Awards are given to the group or individuals bringing in the largest amount of money. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the Strut beginning at 10 a.m. Registration cost is $15 per person. Each person who brings in at least $50 in donations will receive a Strut T-shirt. There will be two routes. One route is for the serious and seasoned walker and another for those who prefer to stroll. Check point rest stops will be set up along the way where water will be provided. At the end of the walk, each participant will be served a complimentary lunch sponsored by Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pepsi Cola, Channel 2 and Green Back Stamps. Carolina Children's Charity is a totally local charity and helps children of the Lowcountry with birth defects or disabling diseases. The charity purchases equipment and supplies for MUSC Children's Hospital, and helps many Lowcountry children who are patients at MUSC by paying medical bills or buying special needs equipment for them.
