programs cited in U.S. News guide
America’s Best Graduate Schools 2004 just published by U.S. News and World
Report included the following Medical University of South Carolina academic
programs.
The following categories were new rankings. MUSC programs listed in
the new rankings are:

Medical Specialties: Drug/Alcohol Abuse, MUSC ranked 15th in the nation.

Health Disciplines: Nursing (master’s), MUSC ranked 53rd. This places MUSC
in the top 13 percent of all accredited programs in the nation.*

Health Disciplines: Nursing: Anesthesia (master’s), MUSC ranked 25th. This
places the MUSC program in the top third of all accredited programs in
the nation.*

Health Disciplines: Physician Assistant (master’s), MUSC ranked 41st. This
places the MUSC program in the top third of all accredited programs in
the nation.*
Two additional categories were ranked previously and included in the 2004
listing. MUSC programs included in these are:

Health Disciplines: Occupational Therapy (master’s/doctorate) MUSC ranked
20th in nation.

Health Disciplines: Physical Therapy (masters/doctorate) MUSC ranked 61st.
This places the MUSC programs in the top third of all accredited program
in the nation.*
*The MUSC Office of Academic Affairs obtained the total number of programs
in the nation through the accreditation bodies for these programs in order
to calculate MUSC’s placement in terms of all accredited programs.
