Name: Steven Clay Owens. 

Department: Decision Support Services.

How long at MUSC: Three years.

Family: Wife Karen, who teaches at Academic Magnet Middle School, and daughter Katy, 15, a sophomore at Academic Magnet High School.

Favorite reading: Right now I am reading a book by Carl Hiaasen.

Favorite room in your house: The den.

Favorite Web site: I love old cars, so this is my favorite place to visit: Nash Car Club of America at http://www.nashcarclub.org.

Favorite chore: Yard work.

Fondest childhood memory: Spending summers on my grandparents' working farm.

Biggest challenge: Concentrating on one thing at a time.

Most rewarding thing about your job: The people whom I meet. 

Personality trait you admire in others: Patience.

If you suddenly had a free day, what would you do: Spend a quiet day on a beach.

Something people don’t know about you: I have a doctorate in education, and I teach at two universities.

Words of advice: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
