Kiawah Pro-Celebrity Challenge to take place Oct. 18

The annual Kiawah Pro-Celebrity Challenge will take place Oct. 18-20 at Kiawah Island to raise money for MUSC’s Children’s Hospital Fund.

The two-day Celeb-Am, through which most of the tournament funds are raised, takes place on Saturday, Oct. 18, and Sunday, Oct. 19, at both the Kiawah Island Club’s Cassique and Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s Turtle Island.

The spectator portion of the three-day event takes place on Monday, Oct. 20, at Cassique. The course was designed by Tom Watson and recently hosted the Palmer Cup. Visitors can watch the competition among 24 three-man teams, each featuring one PGA Tour pro and two celebrities.

All tournament proceeds benefit research and education at the MUSC Children’s Hospital. Since its inception in 1994, the event has generated more than $1.3 million for the hospital.

Tickets for event are available at all Sprint store locations. Call 792-1112, or order tickets online at http://www.kiawahchildrensclassic.com/.

As a bonus, Kiawah Island Golf Resort is offering guests of the event a special Kiawah Pro-Celebrity Challenge Package. Guests receive three nights’ accommodations; three rounds of golf, including one round on the Ocean Course; a daily buffet breakfast; tickets to the Pro-Celebrity event; and a VIP gift pack, taxes and service charges included, for $795 per person.

Sponsors of the Kiawah Pro-Celebrity Challenge include Baker Motor Company.
