Meet...Jervey

Name: Jervey Simons.

Department: Public Safety.

How long at MUSC: 11 years.

Family: Wife, Marie; sons, Steven, 15, T.J., 15, and Taylor, 13.

Favorite book: Tom Clancy's Debt of Honor.

Favorite movie: It's a toss-up between “In Harms Way” with John Wayne and “The Adventures of Horatio Hornblower” with Gregory Peck.

Least favorite chore: Cleaning out the tool shed.

Favorite place in the world: My sailboat.

Fondest childhood memory: Playing football.

What is your biggest challenge at work: Keeping the computers running and the equipment updated.

Biggest personal challenge: Raising teenagers.

Dream vacation: Visit the memorial at Pearl Harbor.

Something people don't know about you: I'm a black belt in Tai Kwon Do.

Favorite time in history: World War II. I would have loved to be part of the great shipbuilding era that includes the Bismarck, the Yamato and the Enterprise.
