MUSC's speciality care East of the Cooperby Heather Murphy WoolwinePublic Relations It doesn’t matter where you are in the Lowcountry, MUSC is there. MUSC continues to reach out to the community with locations in Charleston, West Ashley, North Charleston and now, Mount Pleasant. With an array of services, the East Cooper Medical Arts building, near the East Cooper Hospital complex, provides residents and neighbors of the congested Mount Pleasant area with an alternative to coming downtown for health care. MUSC Medicine Specialty Associates
“I have been in private practice in pulmonary medicine since 1992,” said Mary Jean Vogt, M.D. “I just recently joined MUSC after doing my training here. My special interests include asthma, smoking cessation, emphysema, and treating those patients with shortness of breath, chronic cough, or other pulmonary complaints.” MUSC Hollings Cancer Center will provide infusion and chemotherapy to medical oncology patients within the suite. Courtney Brady, M.D., is one of the full-time internists with MUSC Medicine Specialty Associates, dedicated to general primary care for adults at least 18 years of age. In addition, Brady’s partner, Deanna Vroman, M.D., (currently out on maternity leave) will see patients on Tuesdays and Thursdays, focusing entirely on women’s health. Carol Blessing-Feussner, physician's assistant, will also work part time seeing male and female patients. “Because this office is internal medicine and multi-subspecialty, I think we will provide a great service with the highest standards and quality health care for residents of Mount Pleasant who may not want to travel downtown for their care,” Brady said.
