Workshop on intellectual property to be heldWhat is intellectual property? What is an invention? Who is an inventor? What is a patent? How do I protect my rights? The answers to these questions can have significant implications for you and for MUSC. Therefore, the MUSC Foundation for Research Development and the law firm of Needle and Rosenberg will sponsor an intellectual property workshop to inform faculty, staff, and students about patents and other forms of intellectual property protection. The format for this Nov. 14 event will include three sections: 1) An introductory “Intellectual Property 101” presentation from 11 a.m. to noon; 2) A biotech patent presentation from noon to 1 p.m.; and 3) Individual meetings between MUSC faculty and visiting patent attorneys scheduled between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Intellectual Property Workshop
To register and reserve a lunch, call, fax, or e-mail Lisa Benson, MUSC Foundation for Research Development office, by Wednesday, Nov. 12.
