MUSC physical therapy students in national spotlightby Lisa Saladin and Ruth HardyDepartment of Rehabilitation Sciences Three College of Health Professions physical therapy students have been selected to receive national student award scholarships from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Adam Smith works on Betty Box, College of Health Professions. Adam Smith, a third year student, was notified that he will receive the Mary McMillan Scholarship. It is the highest honor awarded by the APTA to graduating physical therapy students. The award is based on academic excellence and the demonstrated potential to make significant contributions to the profession of physical therapy. Each physical therapy program can nominate one student and a few are selected from more than 150 physical therapy programs across the country. Adam was also elected as President of the National Student Assembly of the APTA this past fall. Tyrone
