Parking management director to chair board of IPIParking Management director Melinda Anderson was elected chair of the board of the International Parking Institute (IPI). The announcement was made during the organization’s International Parking Conference in Long Beach, Calif.IPI is the international organization which provides technical and educational services to the parking profession. Its members include municipalities, colleges and universities, airports, hospitals, commercial parking operators, theme parks, engineers, architects, parking consultants, manufacturers, and other parking professionals. Anderson, who has been at MUSC since 1976, received the internationally recognized Certified Administrator of Public Parking designation in 1994. She has served four terms on the IPI board and just completed two years as secretary-treasurer of the organization. Anderson is also a founding member and president of the Carolinas Parking Association. IPI’s board of directors determines policy for the association, which
represents more than 1,500 members in 31 countries.
