Ambulatory Care honors Healthcare Workers of the Year

Ambulatory Care Services held its annual Healthcare Workers of the Year reception on May 16. The reception was  to honor this year’s winners and nominees.

Each year, employees nominate those individuals who exemplify the values of this organization—accountability, respect, excellence, and adaptability—on a daily basis.  There are four categories for nominations, specific to the role of the individual.

This year’s winners are:
Registered Nurse of the Year: Bonnie J. Boyce, R.N., Hollings Cancer Center

Licensed/Certified Healthcare Worker of the Year: Krissa B. Drentlaw, Storm Eye Institute

Healthcare Assistant of the Year: Merelle O. Grant, Hollings Cancer Center

Administrative Support Staff of the Year: Carmen J. Rice, Ambulatory Care Administration.

Other nominees were: Barbara Whitnack, Deborah Oliver, Tanya Riffe, Kim Cooper, Elaine Dais, and Muriel Green. All nominees were presented with a corsage and a certificate at the reception.  Award recipients were also presented with an engraved plaque and a dining certificate in the amount of $75. Their names have also been engraved on the Perpetual Plaque that is located on the first floor of Rutledge Tower.

In making the award announcements, the Ambulatory Care administrator and directors (Dave Neff, Sherry Gillespie Miller, Brenda Falls) read excerpts from each winner’s nominations.
