MUSC's Pinkney installed as SC state representative of AANPBernadette Pinkney, faculty member at the MUSC College of Nursing, was among approximately 2,000 nurse practitioners who attended the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP) annual national conference at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.Bernadette Pinkney, clinical director, Enterprise Community Health Center, works with a client. Pinkney, also a primary care provider and clinic director of Enterprise Community Health Center in North Charleston, was installed and awarded the South Carolina state representative for a two-year term followed by the main conference events. The six-day event featured more than 300 expert faculty presentations and state-of-the-art skills enhancement workshops that updated attendees on current, practical, clinically-oriented practice information as well as on legislative, police and practice issues. The AANP was founded in 1985 and is the largest, full-service national professional organization for nurse practitioners of all specialties. With more than 15,000 individual members and 80 group members, AANP represents the interests of approximately 75,000 nurse practitioners as providers of high quality, cost effective health care.
