Henninger elected as regional ASDA trusteeCollege of Dental Medicine student Chris Henninger was elected as a regional trustee with the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) at the organization’s annual meeting in New Orleans, Sept. 1.Chris Henninger A third-year dental student from Tullahoma, Tenn., Henninger will represent ASDA members in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and Tennessee. During his year-long tenure, Henninger will help facilitate activities throughout the region and communicate ideas. He is one of 11 trustees serving in ASDA’s national board and executive committee. ASDA is the largest national organization solely dedicated to dental student concerns. Among the many student and professional issues. Henninger will promote dental licensure reform, the national dental faculty shortage and strategies to promote increased membership in the organization. “Our regional and national focus is to encourage active participation and involvement,” said Henninger, who is also vice president of MUSC’s local ASDA chapter. More specifically, Henninger would like to see more students participate in ASDA national externships either in Chicago or Washington, D.C.
