In addition to pharmacy student support, several campus labs responded to the holiday effort distributing teddy bear gift tags in their respective areas. In total, more than 200 gifts were collected during the three-week effort. An ongoing effort since 1994, students from each of the four pharmacy classes set-up Christmas trees decorated with teddy bear tags at campus locations. Each tag bore the name of a child, age and suggested gift, usually a toy, shoes or clothing item. Some tags listing linens and other household necessities as a general gift request. Participants were asked to return their tagged and bagged gift to the
MUSC Gives Back office.
