Restaurants to support cancer awareness during JuneFor the second year, restaurants in Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Isle of Palms, and Folly Beach are participating in a culinary event to benefit MUSC's Hollings Cancer Center.Restaurants participating in the Dining Out for Cancer Awareness event select one night in June, which is National Cancer Awareness Month, and donate a portion of the proceeds of that night's dining to the cancer center. In its second year, the fund-raiser has become successful with more than 15 restaurants participating. Participating restaurants and the date they will host the event are: June 5—O'Charley's; June 8—Village Chop House; June 10—Long Island Cafe; June 14—Wild Wings (all three locations); June 14: Shem Creek Bar and Grill; June 14—Atlanta Bread Company on the Market; June 15—Tristan; June 16—Starfish Grille; June 21—One Eyed Parrot; June 21—Banana Cabana; and June 29— Norm's Pizza and Subs. Long Island and O'Charley's also participated in 2003. The event is a project of Hollings' Office of Development and its Citizens Advisory Council.
