Free brown bag lunch seminars offered by Human Resources

The University Human Resources Management  Training Department is sponsoring the 2004 Brown Bag Lunch Series. 

The Brown Bag Lunch seminars are free, one-hour informational sessions on a variety of topics. 

All seminars are presented from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursdays in Room 451, Basic Science Building. Feel free to bring your lunch. Registration is not required.

July 22: End-of-Life Issues 
What happens if you are not competent or able to communicate a desire to die a natural death? Have you chosen a person to make medical care decisions for you if you are not competent or able to communicate them yourself? Annette Drachman, J.D., director of legal affairs for MUHA, will answer questions and discuss other end-of-life legal issues relating to you and your family members.

July 29: American Sign Language 
Say volumes without speaking a single word— communicate with your hands. Christine Carpenter-Stewart, HR Employee Relations and Retention consultant, will present this crash course in American Sign Language.

Aug. 5: Create a Beautiful Flower Garden 
Tom Thurman and Peggy Wiggins, MUSC Facilities and Engineering, will present this workshop on designing landscape areas.

Aug. 12: Pet First Aid 
When your pet has an emergency, being prepared is very important. Philippe Gresle, HRM IT and operations manager, will present some basic first aid and emergency care procedures for cats and dogs. He also will present tips for keeping your pet happy and healthy.
