February is Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month the following lectures will be offered:
Feb. 1:  Ethnic Differences on Hypertension with Focus on African Americans. Presenter: Eni Okonofua, M.D., assistant professor, Division of General Internal Medicine, MUSC.

Feb. 8: The Contemporary Management of Atrial Fibrillation. Presenter: Augustus (Gus) Grant, M.D., professor of medicine, Duke University Medical Center.

Feb. 15: Racial Differences in the Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases. Presenter: Elijah Saunders, M.D., professor of medicine, University of Maryland. 

Feb. 22: What We Can Do about Health Disparities: The Exceed/RCMAR Experience. Presenter: Barbara Tilley, Ph.D., professor and chair, Department of Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Epidemiology, MUSC.

All lectures, open to students, house staff, faculty, research and nursing, will be held at 8 a.m. in the Institute of Psychiatry Auditorium.

The events are co-sponsored by the College of Medicine, Department of Medicine and the Office of Diversity.
