The Radiation Oncology Services facility is on the East Cooper Regional Medical Center campus and is the only facility providing radiation oncology services between Charleston and Georgetown. “Some cancer patients require as many as five treatments a week for six to eight weeks,” said Louise Clay, M.D., the radiation oncologist who will treat patients at the new center. “With this new facility we hope to provide a comfortable, soothing environment and reduce the stress and inconvenience of driving to downtown Charleston for treatment.” The new center is in close proximity to MUSC’s Mount Pleasant Medical Specialty Oncology service. Patients may receive a chemotherapy infusion at the oncology facility and then receive radiation treatment just a short distance away. The center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call
