Wear
red in honor of women Feb. 4
Feb. 4 marks the second annual National Wear Red Day for Women. Join the
millions of women across the country who will wear red to help raise awareness
of heart disease as the number one killer of women. Show your support of
the Go Red For Women movement by wearing red, sporting a red dress pin
and becoming a part of reducing heart disease in America's women.
-
Cardiovascular disease takes the lives of more sisters, mothers, aunts,
grandmothers and girlfriends than the next seven leading causes of death,
including all cancers.
-
More women than men die of heart disease each year and one in five women
has some form of cardiovascular disease.
-
Cardiovascular diseases cause about a death-a- minute among females.
-
Less than half of women don't know heart disease is their number one killer.
Without that knowledge, women are powerless to make lifesaving changes.
