Name: Alicia B. Commodore.

Department: Nursing, Peri-Anesthesia.

Favorite reading: Bible and short stories.

Favorite room in your house: Bedroom.

Favorite type of music: Jazz and inspirational.

Fond childhood memory: Warm blanket from mom on a cold morning.

Memorable trip: In the mid-1990s, I chaperoned the Burke High School choir to Africa.

Personality trait you admire in others: Honesty and friendliness.

Three things that mean a lot to you: God, family and friends.

Person you admire most: My church's “first lady.”

Activities in your free time: Reading and singing.

Most rewarding thing about your job: Serving children.

Best thing about your job: Being able to care totally for the patient. It's my job to keep patients and their families in a comfortable state prior to surgery.

Words of advice: Never let anyone take you where you don't want to be—socially, emotionally or spiritually.
